What is LinkBox?
LinkBox is a mobile platform for the history of present illness, the HPI. Before an appointment, the patient works through a guided history on their own device. Their answers become a structured history waiting in the chart, so the physician walks in prepared instead of building the note from scratch during the visit.
How does the pre-visit history reach the chart?
The patient completes the guided questions from their device at their own pace, ahead of the visit. LinkBox organizes those answers into a ready history of present illness and places it in the chart. Nothing is transcribed live and nothing waits for after-hours cleanup; the structured history is there when the physician opens the record.
Does the practice need new hardware or a scribe?
No. LinkBox adds no hardware, no waiting-room kiosk, and no scribe. Patients use the device they already carry, and physicians sign in with the credentials they already use through Doximity single sign-on. The workflow stays the same; only the moment the history is captured moves earlier.
What does the patient have to do?
The patient answers a short, guided set of questions about what brought them in: when it started, what makes it worse, and what they have already tried. There is no app to download. Most patients already know this story before the visit, so sharing it early feels natural rather than like extra paperwork.
How does this change the visit itself?
The conversation starts at the assessment instead of the intake. Because the history is already gathered, the physician spends the visit confirming and examining rather than typing. The note is built from the patient's own structured answers, so it is substantially finished when the door closes and far less of it follows the physician home.
Does it replace our EHR?
